The landscape of digital interaction has transformed dramatically with the rapid advancement of technology, bringing both unprecedented opportunities and challenges. Today, the online world is marked by an ever-present risk of digital crimes as hackers and cybercriminals exploit system vulnerabilities and human error. Techniques for deception have become more sophisticated, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) often manipulated to create convincing deepfakes, commit identity theft, and even orchestrate large-scale fraud. In response, Tizzle was born out of a commitment to leverage AI for constructive purposes—establishing a space where AI enhances security, fosters positive interactions, and provides genuine value to users.

Tizzle’s innovative approach rests on the integration of two cutting-edge technologies: AI and Web3. As AI continues to develop, so does the need for security, privacy, and user autonomy, which Web3 enables through decentralization and blockchain technology. By combining these strengths, Tizzle offers a platform where digital creators, intellectual property (IP) holders, and users alike can enjoy a personalized and secure AI experience.

The idea for Tizzle emerged from the need for more personalized and secure digital interactions. With the rapid growth of blockchain technology and the integration of AI into daily life, there is a unique opportunity to create intelligent, customizable agents that can serve as digital companions, educators, and even representatives of Intellectual Property (IP). Tizzle seeks to make digital interactions more meaningful by leveraging both NEAR Blockchain for Web3 capabilities and GPT-4o-mini for AI-driven conversation.

What it does

Our platform, built on the NEAR Protocol blockchain, allows users to engage in token-based interactions with AI agents, each uniquely represented as 3D avatars. These agents are designed to serve as more than just digital assistants; they are adaptive, personalized companions capable of representing a user’s IP with intelligence, customization, and privacy. Users can connect with these AI agents on their own terms, creating a space where ownership, control, and security are prioritized.

How we built it

Large Language Models (LLMs)

Large Language Models (LLMs) serve as the backbone of Tizzle's AI agents, enabling them to understand and generate human-like text. These models are designed to process vast amounts of information, allowing agents to engage in meaningful conversations and provide valuable insights. Tizzle employs a sophisticated variant, GPT-4o-mini, which has been fine-tuned to enhance its performance in specific domains such as digital asset management and user interactions. This allows the agents to not only comprehend complex queries but also respond with relevant and contextually appropriate information.

Text-to-Speech (TTS)

The Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology transforms the text generated by the LLMs into natural-sounding speech, enriching the user experience by allowing for audio interactions with the AI agents. Tizzle integrates ElevenLabs' TTS, known for its high-quality voice synthesis, which provides a realistic and engaging auditory experience. This capability is complemented by the Rhubarb Lip Sync Library, which animates the avatars of the AI agents based on the speech output, creating an engaging and lifelike interaction. The combination of TTS and visual animation helps users feel more connected to their AI companions, making conversations dynamic and interactive.

  • User Input: The process begins with the user entering text through the interface. This text represents the message or query that the user wishes to convert into speech.

  • Text Processing: Once the user submits their text, it is forwarded to the OpenAI GPT-4o-mini API for processing. This step involves generating a coherent and contextually relevant response based on the input provided by the user.

  • Audio Generation: After receiving the response from the GPT-4o-mini model, the text is relayed to the Eleven Labs Text-to-Speech API. This API transforms the generated text into audio format, providing a natural and engaging voice output.

  • Viseme Generation: The audio output is then sent to the Rhubarb Lip Sync library to produce viseme metadata. Visemes represent the visual phonemes or shapes of the lips that correspond to the spoken sounds, enabling realistic lip movements.

  • Synchronization: Finally, the visemes are utilized to synchronize the digital human's lips with the audio. This synchronization ensures that the visual representation of the AI agent accurately reflects the spoken words, enhancing the overall user experience.

This TTS workflow combines advanced AI and audio technologies to create an immersive and interactive environment for users, allowing for natural and engaging conversations with AI agents.

Challenges we ran into

Building Tizzle came with a number of technical and creative challenges:

  • Integrating NEAR Wallet: Ensuring smooth wallet connection and token purchasing flow on NEAR Protocol was a complex process that required a strong understanding of blockchain transactions and smart contracts.

  • Creating Realistic Interactions: Synchronizing the AI’s text and audio output with a 3D avatar required careful implementation using text-to-speech and viseme generation technologies.

  • Time Constraints: Managing and completing the project in under a month was a rigorous test of project management.

These agents are designed to simulate meaningful, engaging interactions while upholding a secure and controlled environment. Each agent is built with distinct personalities and specialized knowledge, creating a range of experiences for users to explore.

What we learned

Throughout the journey, I gained deeper insights into both NEAR Blockchain and AI technologies. I discovered the potential of decentralized platforms to enhance digital ownership and learned how AI can create personalized and engaging user experiences. The challenges encountered also taught me a great deal about real-time data processing and synchronization for AI agents.

This will allow for the creation of agents that are experts in specific domains.
  • Exclusive Partnerships with NFT Projects: Tizzle will actively seek collaborations with NFT projects, allowing NFT communities to enjoy specialized features and creating a unique ecosystem where IP ownership is celebrated and enhanced. These partnerships aim to make owning NFTs more valuable, providing NFT holders with exclusive interactions and benefits within Tizzle.

Conclusion

In the development of this project, I have worked independently within a timeframe of less than one month. I am committed to continuing the development of Tizzle and aim to expand the team with experts in 3D art, AI engineering, frontend development, and community management. This expansion will allow us to improve code quality, streamline timelines, and develop new features more efficiently. I look forward to receiving support from NEAR Protocol and other contributors who believe in the project’s potential.
