Inspiration

The event ticketing industry has long been plagued with issues such as high fees, ticket scalping, and lack of transparency. The inspiration behind Tix came from the desire to revolutionize event ticketing by leveraging blockchain technology and NFTs to create a decentralized, secure, and user-friendly platform.

What it does

Tix is a mobile app that allows event organizers and attendees to buy, sell, and trade event tickets as NFTs. It streamlines the ticketing process, ensuring secure transactions and providing a trustless secondary marketplace for ticket resales. The app offers an intuitive interface for event discovery, ticket purchasing, and event entry verification.

How we built it

We built Tix using various technologies, including Bubble.io, Polygon for the underlying blockchain, and Thirdweb for smart contracts.

We focused on developing a user-friendly interface and seamless onboarding process to ensure a smooth user experience.

Challenges I ran into

Some of the challenges we faced during development include:

• Extracting as much complexity away from the user as possible, this was achieved by using relayers to pay for all the gas fees and setting up custodial wallets so users don't need to connect wallets.

• Setting up credit card checkouts using Paper so users can purchase NFTs with credit cards.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

• Creating a fully functional mobile app that streamlines the event ticketing process.
• Providing a seamless and user-friendly experience for both event organizers and attendees.
• Demonstrating the potential of NFTs in the event ticketing industry.

Throughout the development process, I learned about:

• The challenges and complexities of implementing blockchain technology in a consumer-facing mobile app.
• The intricacies of NFTs and smart contracts in the context of event ticketing.
• The importance of user experience and interface design when building a mobile app.

Future plans for Tix include:

• Expanding the platform with a secondary marketplace to trade tickets before an event has started.
• Implementing additional features, such as in-app customer support, and personalized event recommendations.
• Scaling the platform to accommodate a growing user base and increased transaction volume.
• Exploring potential partnerships and integrations with existing event ticketing platforms and service providers.
