TinyPlayer was born out of a simple frustration: every mainstream music app feels overloaded — algorithmic clutter, social distractions, ads, and tabs upon tabs. I wanted to design the opposite: a music player that does one thing beautifully — play songs.
The inspiration came from the quiet craftsmanship of early iPod interfaces and the emerging aesthetic of “tiny tools”: apps that do one task perfectly. I wanted to explore what would happen if you combined that ethos with modern technologies like TypeScript, React, and a serverless backend — while maintaining an architecture that could scale, not just in users, but in elegance.
It also has a social component where you can follow users to get a feed of what they've been playing.
There's always a fresh recommendation and new music waiting for you on tinyplayer.
