Inspiration

To create an original puzzle combining elements of old games like Sokoban and the 'merging' trend.

What it does

Its a puzzle set on a tiled island with animals. The sub-goal is move the animals strategically so they don't fall in the water. The main goal is to merge the animals into their species.

How we built it

The puzzles were designed on pen and paper and Unity was used to test them out and finally build the movement system and the win/lose states.

Challenges we ran into

Puzzle design so it wasn't too easy nor too hard.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The in-editor tools to create more puzzles, the art-style and the satisfying interactions.

What we learned

How to build Unity games and publish them using Reddit's API, designing mechanics and tweaking difficulty.

What's next for Tiny Shepherd

An editor so players can build puzzles and publish them for other player's to solve. More animals and a leaderboard in comments.
