Inspiration
A desire to connect freshmen together as they come to college for the first time.
What it does
It allows you to match with random people matching a few criteria to request them to become your roommate. You can also combine two rooms to make a larger one!
How we built it
We split our work across the team: I did the backend, Minh Quang, Huy Pham, and Eric did the frontend. They worked together to deliver a pretty good UI despite challenges!
Challenges we ran into
Two of our team are completely new to web development and needed a lot of time to work through challenges. Therefore I had to carry much of the backend. Still, we didn't have enough time to finish all the features we had in mind, and the frontend's design style is currently a bit... incoherent.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We cooked much of the UI with two newbie web developers! The backend has also been largely implemented, without much empirical testing even.
What we learned
We learned how to communicate, plan ahead and structure the app before working, and coordinate our team to deliver as fast as we can.
What's next for Tindorm
We plan to deploy and finish the rough edges of the app. Many of the features are still unfinished, so we'd like to revise them to make the app actually usable.
