Inspiration
Project started during a hackathon based on food waste.
What it does
When you have food leftovers, you can register them on LeftLovers, so that people in your neighborhood can benefit from it.
How I built it
We made a POC with a Symfony backend and a react native smartphone app.
Challenges I ran into
We tried to show the carbon footprint of the wasted leftovers to help people realizing the usefulness of their action, but wasn't so easy.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We had a good looking MVP at the end of the hackathon.
What I learned
I'll never use PHP and Symfony for a hackathon backend anymore. Too much of a hassle to get simple stuffs going.
What's next for LeftLovers
The project is in standby for now, as we're lacking resources.
