Inspiration
As university students, we are constantly overwhelmed with studying and assignments. We wanted to create something that can help with managing our tasks. This site helps make studying less overwhelming by helping us organize all the tasks at hand.
What it does
The site incorporates many science proven techniques to increase productivity, such as the pomodoro technique and time blocking, and also study music. We allow the student to dump their tasks on the site and we help them organize it into a streamline schedule they can follow for the day.
How we built it
We built TimeVault using Typescript combined with React, Tailwind-CSS and next.js to create a responsive web app.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we ran into was managing our time. Being inexperienced in hackathons and app building meant that we spent a lot of time figuring out how we would move forward with our ideas. By the time we settled on the details, there was not enough time to implement every one of them. Implementing seemingly basic features proved a challenge and also hindered progress.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of having a sleek UI that is pleasant to the eye. Despite lacking some of its major functionality, what we managed to put up does the job well as a todo list or task tracker.
What we learned
We learned a lot in the technical side using react, typescript and tailwind as well as the importance of managing our time and resources efficiently. For future projects, we have learned that we should keep our projects and ideas manageable and plausible in the time we have.
What's next for TimeVault
In this hackathon, TimeVault's true potential was not shown. We will continue working on the features such as the pomodoro timer and music player and create a more seamless experience for the site. We believe that TimeVault can truly benefit many students across the world to help with their productivity.
