💡 Inspiration
Many organizations still rely on manual timesheet tracking or disconnected tools, leading to delays, errors, and lack of visibility. We wanted to create a simple, centralized solution to streamline the entire process.
⚙️ What it does
The Timesheet Management System allows employees to submit weekly timesheets and managers to review, approve, or reject them. It provides real-time status tracking, automated notifications, and centralized data storage.
🛠️ How we built it
We built the app using Microsoft Power Platform:
- Power Apps for the user interface and logic
- SharePoint as the data source
- Power Automate for notifications and workflow automation
🚧 Challenges we ran into
- Managing form behavior between new and existing records
- Ensuring data consistency across SharePoint and Power Apps
- Handling field mappings (especially dates and calculated values)
- Designing a user-friendly interface while maintaining functionality
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successfully built an end-to-end submission and approval workflow
- Implemented dynamic role-based experiences for employees and managers
- Automated notifications to improve communication
- Created a clean and intuitive user interface
