Introduction
Sick of spending more time figuring out what to study than actually studying? We get it – the struggle of juggling tasks and deciding where to start. Timely takes that stress right off your plate. No more staring blankly at a to-do list. With smart time table generation and active-recall flashcards, Timely does the thinking for you. You've got this!
Inspiration
The inspiration behind Timely stems from our own struggles as students. We've been through the chaos of trying to balance multiple tasks, feeling overwhelmed by an ever-growing to-do list, and spending more time deciding what to study than actually studying.
We've been there. And that's exactly why we decided there had to be a smarter, more relatable way to tackle the madness – Timely is our way of turning those daily study battles into victories, making it easier for you to conquer your academic journey with confidence.
What it does
The simple yet modern interface of Timely lets a user input their tasks, according to ranging priorities and levels of difficulty, pertained to a specific deadline. This data is then used to generate a smart study schedule for the user, with the inclusion of multiple study breaks and revision redos.
How we built it
Timely is an AI inclusive web app. The frontend of the application is built using React JS while the backend has been written using Python’s Django. The heart and soul of the application, is the integration of Google Gemini to produce efficient time tables and study suggestions for any user.
Challenges we ran into
The integration with Google Gemini proved to be a very exhausting and complex process, even with the provided easy-to-read documentation. Since the AI generated data were to be used and saved within the database, it had to be in an organised format. This inculcation of structured prompts into the app was equally tough and rewarding.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Proudly, Timely is a fully functional product with both the frontend, and the backend, along with the database properly deployed on the Internet. Any user with access to the Internet can easily use Timely free of cost!
What we learned
Through this project, we learned about the importance of constant and reliable communication between all the developers of a product. Such is necessary to retain promised expectations and reduce time wastage due to error resolving.
What's next for Timely
The next step for the app is the inclusion of Active-Recall flashcard techniques for smart studying. The app may be produced as a mobile application to ease with study reminders and close communication.
