Time4Tasks

Inspiration

We were inspired by struggles in our own time management, and strategies that we wanted to implement to help ourselves improve.

What it does

This app organizes your tasks into intervals of work and breaks to help you be productive throughout your work time.

How we built it

We built it using Storyboard Swift, through XCode.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into many challenges using Swift, as no team member had ever coded in said language or ever coded an app. We started out using SwiftUI instead of Swift Storyboard, which is far less beginner friendly and has a steep learning curve that we wouldn't be able to overcome in a short time period. We then struggled to understand Storyboard itself, because its structure did not necessarily match with we were used to (Java).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to overcome the struggles of developing an app, which we had never done before in a language that we had never used.

What we learned

We learned a bit more about how app development works, and how to understand the unique style of Storyboard Swift.

What's next for Time4Tasks

I think new add-ons such as being able to add organization based on task difficulty and adding a pre-save/favorites bar with such tasks that you would repeat, like cleaning the house. Another add-on would be toggling do not disturb or some other way to limit distractions whilst doing the tasks.
