TimeMatch: Turning Overlooked Tasks into Opportunities

Inspiration

TimeMatch was inspired by a problem I witnessed firsthand. My mother once needed someone to move a clinic marketing flexi between branches. What seemed like a simple task ended up taking nearly six months and countless contacts to find someone who could do it.

That experience made me realize something: many small, everyday tasks are overlooked because people struggle to find someone available and willing to complete them. At the same time, there are people with useful skills and free time who would appreciate opportunities to earn, gain experience or simply help others.

I wanted to bridge this gap by creating a platform that makes finding help and discovering opportunities easier.

What I Built

TimeMatch is an AI-powered task-matching platform designed to connect people who need tasks completed with people who have the relevant skills and availability.

The idea is to make small tasks more accessible by simplifying the process of finding the right person. Rather than relying on endless calls, personal contacts or word of mouth, users could find suitable matches through one platform.

I began developing my concept using Taskade, where I created an initial prototype to explore how the platform could work. This gave me a way to visualize the user experience, organize the core features and turn an idea into something tangible.

What I Learned

Building TimeMatch taught me that innovation does not always begin with a groundbreaking invention. Sometimes, it starts with noticing an ordinary inconvenience that others have simply accepted.

I also learned that having an idea and building a practical solution are two very different things. I had to think beyond the concept itself and consider user experience, trust, accessibility and how AI could genuinely improve the matching process instead of being added just for the sake of it.

Most importantly, I learned to approach problems from the perspective of both sides of a platform: the person requesting help and the person offering it.

Challenges I Faced

One of my biggest challenges was transforming a broad idea into a focused and practical product. There were many possible features I could include, but I had to identify the ones that would solve the core problem without making the platform unnecessarily complicated.

Another challenge was figuring out how to make AI meaningful to TimeMatch. The goal is not simply to connect people randomly, but to eventually match them based on skills, availability and task requirements.

As a student and a first-time founder, I am still learning how to move from a prototype to a fully functional platform. Working with Taskade helped me take that first step, while also showing me how much more there is to learn and build.

What's Next

TimeMatch is currently at the prototype stage, and I aim to develop it further into a functional platform. My vision is to make small tasks easier to delegate while creating accessible opportunities for people to put their time and skills to use.

TimeMatch began with one overlooked task. I hope to turn it into a solution that helps people discover opportunities in the tasks that often go unnoticed.
