Since the theme of the HackFSU competition was 90's Nostalgia, we were inspired to take 90's Nostalgia to the next level. With our Time Machine Decade Radio, listeners can select the music they want to hear by the time period, all with the simple turn of a dial. To complete the nostalgic feel of the listeners desired era, we have complemented the music broadcast with intermittent news, pulled from the annals and archives and streamed over the Decade Radio seamlessly with the music.
The target user of this radio are listeners who have an appreciation of music from all time periods and a taste for history. The Time Machine Decade Radio could also be attractive to companies with brands that have withstood the test of time. Old advertisements could be given new life by being broadcast in the context of their era.
Our well-rounded team of hackers from Florida Polytechnic University were able to unite hardware and software into a prototype product that is fun, futuristic, and timeless.
