Inspiration
The greatest inspiration was to study Flutter from the best in pool, Google. Always when something comes from Google's side, everyone is excited towards it. Another is to learn a new Language Dart and Flutter which I have always been thought of but fulfilled with this hackathon as I started learning flutter for the hackathon.
What it does
Its a simple Flutter Puzzle named "Tiles 15" which is a small mind game for those who love solving puzzle. It consists of 15 tiles with random numbers on them from 1-15. You are requires to arrange the tiles in a particular ascending order to win it.
How we built it
This was mainly built on Dart language (Flutter). As a freshie to the world of Flutter I discovered a lots of resources within Flutter. The packages and widgets which are prebuilt makes life more easier. Since it was my first ever small professional project I couldn't add much but wit my limited knowledge, I was able to built this of which I am happy about.
Challenges we ran into
As a beginner, I had a lots of challenges which I overcame. But now I had came though some problem with my project having some issues when I tried to implement splash screen onto my project. I tries every way to solve it and went though online resources which couldn't rectify it and it disappoints. The error I faced was something like:
failure: build failed with an exception. * where: build file 'c:\users\prejith\androidstudioprojects\sliding_puzzle\android\app\build.gradle' line: 24 * what went wrong: a problem occurred evaluating project ':app'. > plugin with id 'com.android.application' not found. * try: run with --stacktrace option to get the stack trace. run with --info or --debug option to get more log output. run with --scan to get full insights. * get more help at https://help.gradle.org build failed in 1s exception: gradle task assembledebug failed with exit code 1
There was some similar solution in Internet but on trying them northing more happened. I had more plans to implement in my project which I couldn't because of it, but happy with all my effort towards it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am really happy about the project I had come up with and I had provided it a simple design which I thought would be pleasant. A lots of new learnings were there during the process and enjoyed a lot. I could have even better but with some issues it didn't went the way I wanted, but happy with my project.
What we learned
As a freshie to a new language like Dart(Flutter) , this Flutter Puzzle Hack had provided a great opportunity to learn something new and explore its versatility. Its always a great feeling to learn something new and implementing out learnings. Thanking Google and Flutter for such opportunities and looking forward for more in the future😀.
What's next for TILES 15
I would love to get the solution to the problem I faced in the project as I had much more plans that probably I could have implemented in the project. Looking forward for more such Hackathons and Projects as it just explores something new for us.
