Inspiration

TikTok has skyrocketed to popularity and almost everyone has seen at least one dancing video. We were inspired by the generous users who made dance tutorials on TikTok to help everyone learn viral TikTok dances. While these videos are extremely helpful, we found that they may be too fast paced and difficult to follow at times. It is also difficult to find tutorials for specific songs that you want.

What it does

Our website provides an organized and efficient platform for TikTok users to find the tutorials they want at no cost. Each tutorial is taught in a way that allows for anyone to follow along no matter their dance experience. It's less time consuming and also encourages people to learn dances that they may have thought were too difficult. TikTok is a very addicting app, and many users spend hours on it without physical activity. Based on personal experience, I sometimes would want to learn a dance, but because I could not find any tutorials that suited my learning style, I would give up and continue scrolling. This website also aims to promote physical activity through dance by making it easier for users to learn any dance they want to.

How I built it

My teammates and I coded the majority of our website using HTML and CSS. We used the external text editor Sublime.

Challenges I ran into

My team and I had no prior experience in programming. This is the first hackathon in which we were truly able to complete a project. Most of the time, we didn't know what to do and used online resources to guide us.
