TikTokTLDR

Inspiration

Everybody uses TikTok, so we realized that analysing what people watch on TikTok reveals a lot about them. We took that data and visualized it.

What it does

• Our webapp looks at a TikTok user and scrapes their TikTok data from the official website. Our server is also able to fetch video/audio files. We used the cohere API to categorize the users favourite videos. All of this is made into a nice package for the user to enjoy.

How we built it

• React, Flask, Cohere API, TikTokApi, Node, TwitterAPI

Challenges we ran into

• Deployment was a long and pointless battle
• Official TikTok blocking us
• Back-end API optimization

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• We barely knew React coming into this project but we still created a website that looks epic
• Most of our members didn't know Python, but we learned really fast to create the server

What we learned

What's next for TikTokTLDR

• Deploying the website
• Suggest similar creators/videos
• Make back end loading times faster (improves user experience)
• More mobile compatability
