Inspiration
Hate not knowing what to buy for a trip? Unsure what you need to move into hall? Or just your daily essentials? Well, look no further! TikTok Finds is here to FIND it for you.
What it does
TikTok Finds empowers users to create and customize their own wishlists while gaining inspiration from their friends' wishlists for thoughtful gift ideas. These personalized wishlists can be named and double as a handy organizational tool, allowing users to categorize their 'shopping carts' by specific themes or needs, preventing them from losing track of their desired items.
Moreover, TikTok Finds opens the door for users to contribute to the TikTok community by curating public theme lists, offering personal recommendations, and enhancing the shopping experience. Each item featured in these public lists is sourced directly from the TikTok Shop, providing users with a seamless pathway to explore, view, and purchase products with a simple click.
Furthermore, users can easily discover trending items and seek personalized recommendations for specific scenarios, such as 'University Hall Life Essentials,' by searching for these publicly shared themed lists. This feature not only keeps users up-to-date with the latest trends but also assists them in making informed purchasing decisions.

How we built it
Backend: MongoDB, Express.js, Node.js Frontend: Dart, Flutter
Challenges we ran into
We struggled greatly with creating a responsive mobile application that is able to cater to multiple different screen sizes. Additionally, as we did not have any prior knowledge about Flutter and Dart, we had to spend a significant amount of time learning about it before we could start development.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a fully-functioning application within a few days, despite having no prior knowledge of mobile app development. Additionally, we were also a cohesive unit, working together effectively to navigate challenges together despite the time constraint.
What we learned
MongoDB, Express.JS, DART, Node.JS, Flutter. Additionally, we also learned how to emulate Android devices using Android Studio, as well as backend and frontend development from the workshops organised by TikTok.
