Inspiration

Trigonometry can be difficult for students when they have to calculate different trigonometric functions manually. We wanted to create a simple and interactive tool that makes learning trigonometry faster, easier, and more engaging.

What it does

TrigoNest is an aesthetic trigonometry calculator that allows users to enter any angle from 1° onwards. It instantly calculates all six trigonometric functions: sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, and cotangent. It also clearly displays when a value is undefined.

How we built it

We built TrigoNest using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. HTML provides the structure, CSS creates the clean nature-inspired design, and JavaScript performs the trigonometric calculations. Angles entered in degrees are converted into radians before calculations are performed.

Challenges we ran into

One of our main challenges was correctly handling angles where certain trigonometric functions become undefined. We also had to ensure that the calculator accepts decimal values and large angles while keeping the results accurate and easy to understand.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a functional and user-friendly trigonometry calculator from scratch. We combined mathematics with web development to turn a classroom concept into an interactive tool with a clean and aesthetic interface.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together to build a complete web application. We also improved our understanding of JavaScript mathematical functions, degree-to-radian conversion, user input handling, and responsive web design.

What's next for TrigoNest

We plan to expand TrigoNest with a complete trigonometry learning section, standard-angle tables, graphs and visualizations, step-by-step solutions, and additional learning tools to make trigonometry more interactive and accessible for students.
