Inspiration
Most study apps are built around rigid structures like Pomodoro 🍅 timers or time-blocking… But for people with ADHD, productivity often happens in sudden bursts of energy, not by following a strict schedule! We created a study buddy that embraces chaos and randomness and actually uses it as an advantage.
What it does
TiggyAI is an ADHD-friendly study companion that adapts to your unique study rhythms: 📂 Upload your notes, slides, or work docs → TiggyAI parses them and lets you quiz yourself or ask questions ⏱️ Tracks how long you study different tasks, learns your habits, and builds a memory of your study patterns. It notifies you when you’re most likely to get into flow (similar to a period-tracking app!) 🎲 Chaos Shuffle: If you can’t pick a task, Tiggy picks one small, random task from your list instead of wasting time and momentum…. 🌊 Unstructured Study Mode: Encourages short, flexible bursts instead of long, rigid sessions. You ride the wave of focus instead of fighting it
How we built it
This project is built with React and TypeScript, using Vite for fast development and builds. Styling is handled with Tailwind CSS and custom CSS files. It integrates the Google Gemini API for AI features
Challenges we ran into
It was very hard trying to work with Gemini API keys for the first time. Connecting file uploads, parsing, quiz generation, and task tracking also required a lot of debugging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
⭐️Successfully integrated features like note parsing, quiz generation, and adaptive study tracking that actually worked together as a cohesive app. ⭐️Designed an ADHD-friendly experience that’s flexible, supportive, and fun, rather than rigid like most study tools. ⭐️Cute tiger cat
What we learned
We learned a lot about the design process for ADHD-friendly tools: that rigid structures don’t always work, and flexibility and randomness can actually boost productivity! This shifted how we thought about user experience: instead of forcing users into a system, we built something that adapts to them!
What's next for Tiggy AI
Expand TiggyAI’s personalization features, so it learns even more about individual study rhythms and adapts recommendations over time.
Build a mobile app version to make it more accessible and useful on the go.
Add gamification elements (streaks, small rewards, encouragements) to make studying more engaging without adding pressure.
Strengthen data privacy and security for handling uploaded notes and documents.
Pilot TiggyAI with real students who have ADHD to gather feedback and refine how well the tool supports their study patterns.
