Our trauma

What it does

Its a chatbot that resembles an angry asian parent because we are always disappointments.

How we built it

We prompted OpenAI GPT to act as an angry asian parent and fed the responses to ElevenLabs for text to speech accented voice. Used react for the frontend and python for backend.

Challenges we ran into

Had to spend $5 to get tokens for openai. React is hard. Flask CORS is not super fun to work with.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It actually works. We managed to get the Flask CORS to connect our react frontend and backend together to create a chatbot that scolds you.

What we learned

All AI keys cost money and react is hard.

What's next for TigerParentAI

Speech input to for a more immersive scolding experience from your virtual tiger parent. Maybe a female asian accented voice too.
