Inspiration
Obviously our biggest inspiration was the theme of agriculture, but the decision to go with a driving game came from everyone's programming experience, as well as a love of old web browser games as kids.
What it does
Plow power is a farming game where you drive around, collect wheat, and explore the world. It's supposed to be a relatively relaxing game.
How we built it
We built this game utilizing the Unity Engine, and worked together using a new version control solution called Unity Version Control.
Challenges we ran into
Unity Version Control was a real pain to work with. We had lots of issues with getting everything synced, and lost a lot of progress with overwrites and technical difficulties. Another thing that we struggled with was the tractors movement code. It was really buggy and took a while to fix.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The look and aesthetic of the game is something our team is very proud of, it looks like something we would have played ourselves years ago, and I think that's really cool.
What we learned
We learned a lot about unity, physics, and version control. The bugs and frustrations during this project ended up being the biggest learning experiences and valuable takeaways from this project.
