What is Qwestive?

Qwestive is a community-driven content generation platform.

With Qwestive, communities can partner with the creators they follow to build meaningful content and share in the value that it generates.

What it does?

As an MVP, we are building a text based content platform where users can ask each other questions, for a price.

Find someone you are interested in and asked them a question. Place a bid on the question to signal how much you value their answer. Upon answering, the funds are released to their account. If you find value in someone else's question, you can contribute funds to it. Qwestive share's it's revenue with you based on the value your questions bring to the platform.

Why we built Qwestive?

Content is the internet’s substrate, yet the Web2 content ecosystem is extremely unhealthy:

  • Content platforms are UNFAIR, with arbitrary creator bans and substantial fees.
  • Content platforms are NOISY, quality content is hard to find.
  • Content is ILLIQUID, creators must often rely on third parties, like advertisers, to monetize it.
  • Content is ONE-DIRECTIONAL, communities only consume it and don’t share in the economic gains of the content they support.

We envision a FAIR and PERMISSIONLESS internet where creators and communities can collaborate to build MEANINGFUL content that creates value for EVERYONE.

How we built it (tech stack overview):

Current State:

FE: React JS BE:

  • Solana: payments
  • Firebase: storage and hosting

Solana Overview: A Solana escrow program powers question funding: ⇒ Bob ask's Steve a question ⇒ Bob's SOL are transferred to a Wrapped Sol account ⇒ Wrapped SOL is transferred to the temporary PDA account ⇒ Temporary PDA account ownership is transferred to Qwestive's escrow program ⇒ An escrow account is created to store escrow state data ⇒ When Steve answers, the escrow program releases Bob's funds from the PDA account into a temporary wrapped SOL account owned by Steve. ⇒ Qwestive's escrow program closes the PDA account ⇒ The Wrapped SOL account is closed and funds are transferred to Steve's main SOL account.

Challenges we ran into

Our original UX designer unexpectedly left the team on Sept. 1st. We scrambled to find a new designer, Jason, who joined the team on Oct 5th. This was a blessing in disguise, since Jason played a pivotal role in building a great product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We went from NO idea to a high quality working prototype, a clear future vision for a product and a solid team in a matter of only 4 weeks.

What we learned

We gained in depth knowledge of Solana blockchain and existing tools for developers to interact with it, as well as knowledge on how to build and deploy programs to it.

What's next for Tiger Team

  • Review and consolidate current application state with more testing/error handling/etc.
  • Security and design review for Solana program.
  • Twitter integration to bolster future growth. Anyone can ask a Twitter user a question through Qwestive. Qwestive content can be easily shared to Twitter.
  • Solana Mainnet launch to gather feedback and build a community.
  • Review and improve incentive program for our users, to ensure that both the one asking the question and the one responding it are getting a fare share of the value their content generates.
  • Decentralization. Integrate with decentralized storage solutions like Arweave. We envision a FULLY decentralized Qwestive.
  • Gather feedback and iterate to make an incredible and meaningful product.
