Solution: A blockchain-based domain name service would be more secure and decentralized. This would make it more difficult to attack and would provide a more reliable way to identify websites and applications. Idea: The domain name service could be built on the Fantom blockchain. This would allow for the use of NFTs to store domain names, which would make them more secure and immutable. Features: The domain name service could include the following features:

  • Registration of unique, human-readable domain names.
  • Storage of domain names on the Fantom blockchain.
  • Transferability of domain names.
  • Customization of domain names with subdomains, vanity names, and DNS records.

How we built it

We built it with a team of 5. Frontend developer - 2 Smart contract dev Product designer Product manager

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges we ran into that would need to be addressed in building a blockchain-based domain name service include:

  1. Getting the right experience with the right people for development. We ran into getting efficient hands to help build Namee3. But luckily we were able to have experienced hands that joined the team.
  2. The development of a secure and efficient way to store domain names on the blockchain.
  3. The designing and developing a user-friendly interface for registering and managing domain names.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Getting the right UI/UX design.
  2. Able to build and deploy Namee3 on Fantom blockchain (mainnet).

What we learned

What's next for Namee3

We will continue to improve on it and to add other features such as:

  1. Integration with wallet address functionality.
  2. Adding username functionality.
  3. Creating a community and marketing.
  4. And adding more domain name functionalities.
  5. Other blockchains integration.
