Inspiration
I wanted to create a better way to sell events ticket for blockchain enthusiast. But a long the line, the idea to make it more accommodating to other events was introduced by my team mates. Hence we started building a simple solution to create events ticket on the blockchain using polygon chain.
What it does
TicketExpress is a simple but feature rich event ticket creating protocol on polygon chain. Events are categorized according to the type of events. examples are: sporting, concert, travels etc.
How we built it
We built TicketExpress using solidity (integrated chainlink API and protocol) on the backend with and ReactJS on the frontend. Before commencement, our designer used figma in creating the design.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges we ran into are:
- experience, my team is made of newbies in the web 3 space so at first it wasn't easy but we were able to see related projects to guide us in our journey.
- Another experience was in connecting the frontend to the backend, we had to use YouTube videos for guidance. it helped a lot.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Being able to work as a team.
- Working in synergy in achieving our goals.
- Coming out with a simple but exciting UI/Ux.
- Being able to write and deploy the smart contract successfully.
- And being able to connect our frontend to the backend.
What we learned
- smart contract development.
- WEB3 JS.
- Smart contract deployment and verification.
What's next for TicketExpress
We will improve on the Smart contract and also on the UI/UX to add more features and to make it more robust. With this protocol we want to continue on it and take it mainstream. We will definitely need all the support we can get from chainlink and other web 3 investors.
