Inspiration
In all of my past hackathons I've noticed many cool websites about marginalized groups such at the LGBTQ+ or the BLM movement. One thing I noticed there is no mention whatsoever in any website/hackathon about the Tibetans who have to live out of their own homeland because of Chinese oppressors. I am an Indian and I've met plenty of Tibetans who live in exile here in India. I am aware of the pain and suffering that they go through everyday. This website was made by me and my friend to educate people about the Tibetan freedom movement
What it does
The website is aimed at educating the visitor about the history of the Tibetan freedom movement, providing resources for them to learn more as well as a small store for visitors to support Tibetan handicrafts by visiting the store and buying handicrafts.
How we built it
For the frontend we used HTML/CSS/JAVASCRIPT and to serve the sites a simple flask server as the backend. Our data was sourced from wikipedia and other website and then it was filtered using ChatGPT, i.e. it was fine-tuned into HTML so that we could add it to our website.
Challenges we ran into
Our most difficult challenge to overcome was "How do we retain our visitors", i.e. not make our site boring. We overcame this by making our frontend more interactive with Javascript and CSS and training ChatGPT to keep the data concise and on point.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of making the website in such a short time. We also managed to overcome the challenges mentioned before (hopefully!!)
What we learned

What's next for Tibetan freedom website
Perhaps we can get in touch with actual craftsmen and sell Tibetan handicrafts online instead of just redirecting to
