Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from our old website. We've been using Weebly for a long time, but we found that the format is too outdated and hard to use. So, we decided to create our own website and add our own functionality!

What it does

This is a website that showcases our previous yearly showcases and our current team members. Additionally, it includes details on how to contact us and displays some costumes that are for sale.

How we built it

We used Javascript, React, some HTML and CSS to build five pages for our website.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge that we encountered is that all of us were unfamiliar to React before this project, and thus, we spent a lot of time learning. Additionally, half of our computers were not able to push and pull from Git directly and we had to transfer our files to the two computers that could.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accomplishment that we are proud of is being able to piece all five pages together in around 12 hours.

What we learned

We learned how to use React and implement the corresponding Javascript.

What's next for Tianyi Dance Team Website

We're planning to add new features, such as clickable costume product links, an Alumni page, and integration with a calendar to automatically update important event details.
