Inspiration
We built Thryve to solve a personal and practical problem:
How can we make it easy for people to track their health and securely share it with those who care?
Whether it's an elderly parent logging blood pressure or a diabetic teen tracking sugar levels, family members often want to stay informed—but checking in constantly isn't always possible. Thryve enables quiet, respectful support by letting users share real-time health updates with trusted individuals.
What it does
Thryve is an AI-powered health companion focused on secure, real-time health data sharing. It allows users to:
- Log vital health readings (blood pressure, blood glucose, heart rate, weight, temperature)
- Input readings using voice via ElevenLabs-powered speech-to-text
- Talk to the AI assistant using voice, for a more natural experience (via ElevenLabs TTS + STT)
- Chat with the AI assistant to describe symptoms or ask questions
(Note: current chat responses are limited and not live) - Share health data with trusted contacts, such as a family member or caregiver
- Notify those contacts immediately when new readings are added
- Review past data and conversations in a clean, organized interface
How we built it
- Frontend: React (built using Bolt)
- Backend: Supabase (authentication, database, real-time syncing)
- Voice: ElevenLabs API for speech-to-text and text-to-speech
- Deployment: Bolt + Netlify
Challenges we ran into
- Implementing secure and real-time access control across users
- Designing a simple flow for managing permissions and notifications
- Making voice input work smoothly across browsers and platforms
- Balancing ease of use with sensitive health data handling
Accomplishments we're proud of
- A smooth, privacy-focused health data sharing system
- Voice-powered logging that makes tracking health effortless
- Real-time alerts that enable silent but supportive check-ins between users
- A fast and installable Progressive Web App (PWA)
