Inspired by roguelites like Hades and isometric camera games like Project Zomboid

What it does

A standard 1v1 boss fight with an angel boss that incorporates the feel of an arcade style game, developed in a way for players to replay multiple times and have a fresh experience each time

How we built it

We mainly used Roblox Studios as our main engine for the framework and that's where the game will ultimately be. Music and sound effects were developed by a teammate on famistudios. Animations were created by a teammate using the Moon Animator plug-in on Roblox.

Challenges we ran into

There was one major idea that we decided on but ultimately couldn't implement due to time constraints. As well as the fact that we wanted to do music but none of our members were experienced in the slightest, leading to often frustrations over the music. We were also ambitious and wanted to do a lot more than what we could manage in 24 hours, but we did the best we could and we believe we pulled through.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made several new developments as some of our members are first-time designers, the sound effects and character animation were all made by members who just started learning how to make them.

What we learned

Our new designers learned many new skills regarding game design and every member learned many new and creative ideas that they'll be implementing in the future.

What's next for Throne Breaker

Our original plan included a waves system with other lesser enemies such as regular mobs and maybe mini-bosses, and to expand on the map and make it a trek to get to the last boss.
