Inspiration
Both founders have experience with mental health issues and we wanted to make an app to help people manage it.
How it works
Most mood tracking apps are complicated and require a lot of user data. We take the most basic and important data: how you feel, how much you slept, whether or not you took your medication, and a journal, in order to make it quick and easy for users to track their mood. Our data model is based off of the NiMH Life Chart Method.
Challenges I ran into
I built the front end very quickly (at least attempted to), and the code ultimately ended up very hard to scale and add new functionality.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I've been working with ios apps for about 5 years but have never released anything on the app store. This was my first submission.
What I learned
Never release an app with prototype code. It's the worst.
What's next for ThriveTracker
ThriveTracker is also developing a dashboard which could potentially allow mental health practitioners access to the patients’ data in the form of interactive charts.
