THREADSCORE is a symbolic composition instrument for developing musical motifs and the relationships between them. Composers can edit motif occurrences, preview transformations, preserve pinned notes, audition changes, and export MIDI, WAV, stems, and editable scores.
The project explores how an AI assistant can propose structured musical changes while a deterministic compiler checks constraints and keeps the composer in control. Nemotron 3 Nano on Nebius Token Factory receives a symbolic score and musical intent, then proposes a typed relationship program; the user can inspect and accept or reject the result. The repository documents a live provider check and the limitations of the tests.
The biggest challenge was maintaining note ancestry and respecting edits and locks through downstream transformations. Musical quality has not been established by a listening study.
