Threadwise

Threadwise helps online shoppers find the right apparel size when every brand uses a different size chart.

The Problem

A shopper may wear a medium in one brand and a large in another.

Traditional size labels are too generic, and product pages often make it difficult to compare chest, waist, shoulder, and sleeve measurements.

This leads to uncertainty, poor fit, and unnecessary returns.

Our Solution

Threadwise lets shoppers enter their measurements and preferred fit, then compares them against each garment’s own size chart.

It returns:

  • A recommended size
  • A confidence score
  • Area-by-area fit details
  • Possible warnings
  • An alternative size

Threadwise also supports real product links.

A shopper can paste a product URL and the size-chart rows from that page, then receive a real-time recommendation without requiring marketplace scraping or retailer credentials.

Why WebMCP?

WebMCP allows Threadwise to expose structured tools that AI agents can discover and use.

The available tools include:

list_garments
get_size_chart
recommend_garment_size
compare_product_fits
analyze_product_link

Instead of guessing from labels such as “medium” or “large,” an agent can call the appropriate tool, provide structured measurements, and receive an explainable result.

The shopper remains in control of their measurements and decisions.

Privacy First

Measurements stay in the browser by default.

Threadwise does not require an account and does not send body measurements to retailers.

The app does not use body photographs, infer sensitive personal attributes, or claim guaranteed fit.

Recommendations are presented as transparent estimates, not certainty.

Built For

Threadwise is designed for online apparel shoppers who want more confidence before ordering.

The same approach can later help independent apparel stores reduce size-related returns and improve product size charts.

What We Built

The prototype includes:

  • A responsive apparel catalog
  • Store-specific body and garment size charts
  • Unit conversion between centimeters and inches
  • Slim, regular, and relaxed fit preferences
  • Explainable scoring and confidence levels
  • Real product-link analysis using user-supplied chart data
  • WebMCP tool registration
  • Browser-only measurement handling
  • Accessible and responsive UI

Future Improvements

Future versions could support authorized merchant feeds, official retailer APIs, better garment-category models, and feedback loops based on anonymized fit outcomes.

Threadwise’s goal is simple: make apparel sizing feel less like guessing and more like an informed decision.
