Inspiration

I'm planning on creating a Twitter enabled device for my wife's Christmas gift down the road so I wanted to learn how to use the ESP8266 wifi module and decided to make a Halloween themed simple project.

What it does

It blinks an LED and plays "This is Halloween" on the Piezo buzzer....not the most complicated app.

How I built it

I found a library to support this board in the Arduino IDE. I then looked up how to play "This is Halloween" on piano and transcribed the notes into Piezo frequencies.

Challenges I ran into

I originally wanted to turn the song on and off via Twitter. However, it started to become too complicated and decided to keep it simple rather than submit a non-working program.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I got the timing for the notes down as best I could....it originally sounded like nothing at all.

What I learned

How to use the ESP8266 and the differences between it and the Arduino Uno.

What's next for This is Hackoween

Enable the app to turn on and off via Twitter.
