Project Overview: The Third Eye is an AI-powered assistive wearable concept designed to provide complete environmental independence to visually impaired individuals. Leveraging the multimodal capabilities of Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, the application serves as a real-time "digital pair of eyes." Unlike traditional object detectors, our system understands context—recognizing not just a "bottle," but specifically identifying it as a "medicine bottle with an expiry date."
The project features a Voice-Controlled interface that eliminates the need for physical interaction with a screen. Users can seamlessly switch between Navigation Mode for hazard detection, Reading Mode for instant OCR of books and labels, and a specialized Find Object Mode to locate lost items. With an integrated Emergency SOS system that logs real-time location and visual data for guardians, The Third Eye bridges the gap between technology and human accessibility, transforming how the visually impaired perceive and interact with the world.
