Inspiration

Right now, about one out of every 28 Americans suffers from some sort of visual impairment. Some products try to tackle this problem by alerting users of obstacles, but all of them have serious flaws. They’re bulky, detect obstacles only directly in front, or only alert their users in one way.

What it does

To address the flaws in existing solutions, we created Third Eye, a 360 degree LiDAR-based obstacle detector, which alerts users with haptic and audio feedback. Our prototype is rapidly developing, and is already able to warn users of obstacles in a testing setting.
