Inspiration
Many impulsive decisions happen because people act while emotional — in emails, chats, or work tasks.
We wanted to create a tool that encourages users to pause and reflect before taking action.
The goal is to improve human interaction and reduce regret in daily life.
What it does
Think Twice AI is a reflection-based AI web application.
Instead of telling users what to do, it helps users:
- Log decisions they are about to make
- Capture emotional state and urgency
- Simulate “Future You” responses
- Show regret probability
- Track emotional temperature over time
- Display insights and decision history
The platform encourages mindful action instead of impulsive behavior, making interactions with others more thoughtful.
How we built it
The project is a single-page web application, designed in React + TypeScript.
I focused on:
- Human-centered UI with soft dark mode and glassmorphism
- Modal-based interaction for smooth experience
- Dashboard with insights and history to visualize user behavior
No backend or database is included yet — this is a frontend prototype.
All logic is simulated in-browser using JavaScript and local storage.
Challenges we ran into
- Designing a reflection-focused AI experience without confusing users
- Showing emotional impact and regret probability visually
- Keeping the interface calm, clear, and intuitive while packing many features
I overcame this by iterating multiple UI prototypes and focusing on minimal, expressive cards.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Created a completely new reflection-based AI concept for human decision-making.
- Built a full-featured single-page web app prototype in React + TypeScript in a short hackathon timeframe.
- Designed a calm, human-centered UI that visually communicates emotional impact and regret probability.
- Included AI ethics awareness in the workflow, showing responsibility and transparency before interaction.
- Successfully simulated decision reflection, emotional tracking, and insights entirely on the frontend without a backend.
- Produced a clear, engaging demo video that tells the story, explains features, and demonstrates the interaction flow for judges.
What we learned
- Human-centered AI matters more than flashy automation
- Even simple simulations can help users reflect
- Storytelling in design is essential to communicate ideas clearly to judges
