Think Forward - Team Coolguys

Inspiration

The School of Computing updates its Operation Technology Roadmap (OTR) every year, but the review process is slow, manual, and inconsistent. Analysing university curricula, scanning IEEE/ACM papers, and interpreting industry reports like Gartner and McKinsey can take weeks. I wanted to build a tool that makes this process faster, smarter, and evidence-driven—so SoC can stay ahead of global shifts in Data & AI, Cybersecurity, and Software Applications.

ThinkForward was constructed with: Automated scrapers for universities, journals, and tech reports PDF parsers for licensed Gartner uploads NLP modules for keyword extraction, topic clustering, and summarisation A ranking engine that generates a Top 20 emerging technologies list A clean web interface for scanning scope selection and exporting OTR recommendations
