Think before you take

Inspiration

In my school we have started a community programme centered around composting, we wanted to

decrease the food wastage made. I started to wonder if there could be new ways to help this cause.

What it does

I have a consumption tracker for food. Essentially every time you purchase fruits, veggies, meat or fish you input it into the tracker. Before you go to buy more things you can simply check the tracker to see whats still in your fridge.

How I built it

I made it on p5js using the javascript language.

Challenges we ran into

Something I really struggled with was coding in 3D objects into the sketch and also creating the image icons of various things.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I was able to animate everything without having to insert external images. Also that I added more to the sketch, like the more info button.

What we learned

Believe it or not, this was my first time working with javascript. It wasn't too hard to pick up on but I still learnt a lot of new things.

What's next for Think before you take

Rather than it being a website/sketch it could hopefully be made into an actual app using python (kivy).
