Inspiration
Thinking about the prompt, we considered several already existing platforms that help keep students engaged while learning essential content like Web3.0 and NFTs. While talking, we discovered that we understood Web3.0 and NFT through TikTok while we were randomly scrolling for entertainment. We realized that the current short-video media platforms are extremely effective at not only reaching out to the population but also keeping users engaged. We then had an idea to develop a platform that borrows aspects of the entertainment media and professional websites.
What it does
The platform allows engaging short-form video content to showcase opportunities within their industry to rising talent. Students using the platform can develop their own professional profiles by including a video resume, sharing experiences, and uploading their personal profiles. Through this app, we can certify students that fully learn the content and get them income ready.
How we built it
First, we used Figma to brainstorm and outline the entire prompt and application. Next, we merged wireframe. cc to create an appropriate design that is accessible. Additionally, we used adobe xd to generate the final mockup and design. Lastly, we did try to apply some software to the design with bravo studios but the API integration did apply to this application. Git for project management.
Challenges we ran into
We did try to apply some software to the design with bravo studios but the API integration did apply to this application. We could have certainly applied code to this design but given the nature of just 48 hours, it was extremely difficult as procured the design in 20 hours and spent the rest of the time on the pitch deck.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are extremely proud of the concept and complexity of the design. It did take longer than we had anticipated but we are happy with it and hope others can enjoy it as well!
What we learned
One thing that we learned is being creative by considering not just our technical expertise but our daily lives. We built the platform prototype by discussing current trends familiar to one person that others might not have known. By doing so we learned to brainstorm ideas and help build off of each other's ideas. We also learned how to incorporate data research into developing and validating our prototype features.
What's next for Thimble Platforms
Unfortunately, a weekend was only enough for us to design a prototype and mockup and not a product. The next step for Sofit is a proof of concept (PoC) that will include the main user interface and some of the features described in the prototype. The PoC might lead to a potential demo that can be tested locally.
People get on our app, Successfully use it, then what? In the future, we want to retain users through Short Form Courses, Event/Training Sessions, Enterprise Opportunities, and token Compensation with a learn-to-earn concept.
