Inspiration

We were inspired by websites such as Coyote's Truck Parts and Revamped Customs for their sleek and minimalist design. We found that their black, white, and grey color palette, the way they presented their images, and animations matched well with Thewconverts idea of premium.

What it does

The website provides information about Thewconverts and their products. The homepage provides a summary with links to other pages, such as About Us, Shop, and Customer Builds, alongside an email subscription at the bottom. The About Us page provides the mission and vision statements, information about the company, the founder, and why a customer should pick Thewconverts. The Shop tab provides a list of products, with images, that the user can add to their cart or click to get additional information. This tab also comes with a search bar with filter options. There's also a tab to browse customer projects, which takes videos and images from Thewconverts's Instagram. There's also a tab for booking an appointment, a contact tab, and an FAQ section. The booking appointment and contact tab allows the user to provide their information to the company. At the footer, there's addtional links to the different sections and an important information tab filled with legal and disclaimers. Lastly, the user can check out and complete their purchase.

How we built it

The website was created using Figma. We uploaded a detailed list of all the factors we wanted the website to have, like a minimalist UI and smooth transitions, which created the baseline of the website. Once that was finished, we began to update parts one at a time and perfect the website. We focused on using a minimalistic and clean design, using a sans-serif font. Our ideal audience was car and truck enthusiasts within the age range of 18 to 40.

Challenges we ran into

One of the most difficult parts of the website was trying to make sure all the text contrasted with the background, since many of the versions had small batches of text that were invisible unless you highlighted them. It was difficult to tell the AI specifically which part of the website we wanted modified. It was critical to be specific about what you want. For example, we had difficulties embedding links to Instagram and images.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the smooth transitions and subtle animations that make the website feel premium. We are also proud of the various pages that link to each other and the clean look we were able to create. We are quite proud of the shopping page with all its search features and filters.

What we learned

We learned that while making the baseline for the website was easy, going in and changing specific parts is very time-consuming. There are multiple parts that are necessary for a website, such as the different pages like Home, About Us, Shop, Customer Builds, Book Appointment, Contact, and FAQ. A customer must have access to all this information to complete a transaction.

What's next for Thewconverts LLC Website by TAA

We are going to update the backend to allow for new customer builds and parts to be added/removed on a dynamic basis. We also want to add a dynamic gallery of images from Instagram and replace placeholder images. We also may want to add a chatbot to aid a customer in their purchase.
