Inspiration

ThetaStreamX was born from my desire to address centralization issues in video streaming. I noticed how traditional platforms often limit content creator revenue and control while introducing inefficiencies in content delivery. Inspired by the potential of blockchain technology to offer transparency and decentralization, I aimed to create a solution that ensures fair compensation and upholds ethical values, addressing inefficient content distribution for creators.

What it does

ThetaStreamX, leveraging the Theta blockchain, offers a decentralized video streaming platform that respects your time. Content creators can stream their videos directly to viewers, bypassing intermediaries and ensuring a fair share of revenue. The platform's use of Theta's EdgeCloud ensures efficient content delivery, while intelligent contracts manage payments and content rights, creating a more transparent and secure streaming environment.

How we built it

Research and Planning: I began by studying Theta's technology and its capabilities in video streaming. This involved understanding the Theta blockchain's architecture and how its features could be applied to my project. Development: I integrated Theta's EdgeCloud for decentralized content delivery and implemented smart contracts using Theta's TNT-20 token standard for managing payments and content rights. Testing: I conducted extensive testing to ensure the platform's performance and reliability, focusing on content delivery speed, payment accuracy, and user experience. Deployment: The platform was launched in stages, starting with a beta version to gather user feedback and make necessary improvements.

Challenges we ran into

Technical Integration: Integrating Theta's blockchain technology with my video streaming infrastructure presented challenges related to network latency and synchronization. Scalability: Ensuring the platform could handle high traffic volumes and large-scale content delivery required optimizing the backend systems and blockchain interactions. User Experience: Balancing advanced blockchain features with a user-friendly interface was challenging. I needed to ensure the platform remained accessible while offering sophisticated functionality.
