ThetaPet

Inspiration

According to a study conducted by Leeds university in England, watching cute & funny animal videos can have positive effect on people' heart rates, lower blood pressur of nervous viewers, and reduce anxiety. By using Theta Video API, we built a platform that hosts cute and entertaining animal videos to reduce stress and make people feel happier. People can donate TFUEL to the streamers they like on this platform.

What it does

The DAPP allows streamers to upload videos on Theta Video API, which not only lowers the cost for video distributors but also allows streamers to stream 4K and 8K videos with minimal buffering. Video streamers can earn TFUEL by uploading videos to ThetaPet and get donations from fans. Viewers can slo earn rewards in TFUEL just by watching the streams.

How we built it

• We used Theta Video API to host the videos
• We built the site using React, HTML, CSS, Javascript
• We connected out site with Metamask and Theta mainnet

Challenges we ran into

We had challenges to debug code and make everything work in limited period of time of the hackathon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to create the site and hosted videos on Theta Video API.

What we learned

• We learnt about Theta SDK
• We learnt to host videos on Theta Video API and used Theta video streaming service.

What's next for ThetaPet

We want to stake the Theta Token and allows viewers to watch videos in different languages
