Theta Vibes

Inspiration

The inspiration for Theta Vibes stemmed from our goals as an NFT project and TNT-20 token. We needed a solution that allowed content to be purchased with $TVIBE and simplified collaborations.

The digital content landscape is rapidly evolving, with creators and consumers seeking more control, better quality, and fairer monetization models. Traditional centralized platforms often face issues like high costs, and censorship, while fully decentralized platforms struggle with reliability and user experience. Theta Vibes was inspired by the need to combine the strengths of both worlds, creating a hybrid model that leverages the benefits of blockchain technology while maintaining the reliability and scalability of traditional video platforms.

What it does

Theta Vibes is an open hybrid model video platform. Users can use $TVIBE, $TFUEL, $USD, & Unstoppable Domains crypto payments to purchase PPV, & subscription based content & livestreams, as well as tip their favorite creators. Users can also use their NFTs to access specific content, live streams, and merchandise. Creators can choose what payment options they would like to accept, or publish publicly to participate in engage 2 earn $TVIBE per view. Creators can choose to Reward Split PPV content up to 10 accounts in total to collaborate with, creating transparency and opportunity like never before.

How we built it

Monthly subscriptions using Theta Network are done via smart contract. The current engage 2 earn smart contract rewards 1 $TVIBE per 10 views on public, and subscription videos. Theta Vibes was built using a combination of cutting-edge technologies:

Theta Blockchain: For decentralized streaming, hosting, and content delivery. Secure, fast, affordable payments, utilizing $TVIBE and $TFUEL.
Languages: JavaScript, Solidity (for smart contracts), HTML/Tailwind
Frameworks: React (for the frontend), Node.js (for the backend), Web3.js (for blockchain interactions)
Cloud Services: Digital Ocean for hosting and cloud storage
Databases: MySQL (for user and transaction data)
APIs: Theta API (for interacting with Theta Edge Cloud), Custom REST APIs (for backend operations and integrations) -Other Technologies: MetaMask (for wallet integration), GitHub (for version control and collaboration), Unstoppable Domains (censorship resistant domain hosting and payments)

Challenges we ran into

Building Theta Vibes presented several challenges: Possibly the biggest challenge of my life, finding an affordable developer team I believed to be competent, and honest. As well as balancing home life, and work, with chasing dreams.

Integration: Combining decentralized and centralized technologies seamlessly was complex
Security: Protecting assets and user data in a hybrid environment
Scalability: Balancing the load between decentralized nodes and centralized servers
User Experience: Creating an intuitive and engaging platform for both creators and viewers

Complete Unstoppable Domain login, payments and domain integration, Wert.io integration, tweak engage 2 earn smart contract towards public videos only, expand tips to VOD, auto allow token gating and blockchain expansion, TNT-20 whitelisting, NFT gated Shopify integration, Spatial Reality Display Entertainment (SRDE) sales, a search engine, and adding more interactive features, a face lift, and general improvements
