Inspiration

Growing up, my mom and I had a weekend ritual — exploring new restaurants around our city. But over time, we noticed something frustrating: the places promoted on social media rarely matched the hype. They were polished for the camera, but the food lacked the soul we knew our culture had. It made me wonder: If locals like us get misled… what about tourists? I realized visitors often miss the everyday dishes, family-run shops, and hidden gems that truly hold the spirit of our culture. These Streets was born from the desire to preserve that authenticity and help people experience the real flavors of a city, the way locals do.

What it does

These Streets is a local-verified food discovery app that eliminates influencer traps and fake reviews. Only real locals can review. Tourists upvote based on real experience. Core features include:

  1. The Swipe: A Tinder-style dish generator powered by GPS.
  2. Tourman (Local Guide): Book verified locals to guide you to hidden gems.
  3. My List: Auto-organized food plans and walking routes. Our goal: help travelers eat authentically while preserving local culture. ## How we built it
