Inspiration

Curbside pickup at groceries stores is a great way to get your groceries easily and quickly. During, COVID-19 curbside pickup and grocery delivery has become more of a normal way to get your groceries. Some people are nervous about using curbside pickup or delivery for groceries because items that the food shoppers may choose might not be up to their standards. An ongoing problem that affects us daily is food waste. Food waste is a major problem that affects all grocery stores, and thus our team set out on a task to tackle these two issues.

What it does

My team and I decided to develop an app design of a grocery store that offers curbside pickup and delivery and integrates a video call feature to help reduce the uncertainties with online grocery shopping. This app also highlights clearance and other discounted items in order to avoid food waste. By highlighting these items, stores are able to get these items to customers instead of disposing them thus reducing food waste.

How we built it

We developed these wire frames with Figma.

Challenges we ran into

We did not have any design experience, so designing an app that focuses on the user was a constant challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to develop a full design within 48 hours.

What we learned

Design is not easy. Things as simple as picking a background color was difficult.
