Inspiration

We were inspired by the challenges faced by NGOs in raising funds efficiently and securely. Many small organizations struggle to reach potential donors or manage funds transparently. Our idea was to bridge this gap by building a dedicated platform just for NGOs to raise money for social causes.

What it does

AVS Link is a fundraising platform tailored for NGOs. It allows verified NGOs to create campaigns, raise funds, and track donations. A small percentage of the raised funds is set aside to build facilities like hostels for the physically disabled, ensuring long-term impact.

How we built it

We developed the frontend using React and the backend with Node.js and Express. MySQL was used to securely store NGO and campaign data. The platform also includes a role-based login system, OTP authentication for admins, and automatic handling of fundraising percentages.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring secure transactions and proper role management was challenging. We also had to carefully design the system so that NGOs could raise funds transparently while the platform deducted the right percentage for infrastructure development without errors.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a working prototype where NGOs can register, manage their fundraising campaigns, and securely collect donations. The integration of auto-percentage deduction for hostel construction was also achieved smoothly.

What we learned

We learned about secure payment handling, role-based user management, and the importance of building platforms that balance social impact with technological robustness.

What's next for Therapy Chat

We plan to integrate real payment gateways, provide detailed analytics for NGOs, and expand verification features to ensure only genuine organizations can fundraise on the platform.
