Inspiration

We were thinking about how many college students face stress stirred by student debt, COVID, and also being away from home for a long time. Therefore, we created a mental health site that helps students.

What it does

It allows a student to find therapists near them, as well as send emails to therapists and fitness coaches.

How we built it

We used GitHub to make a website in HTML, CSS, and javascript. One of us, Krish A, was the back-end developer and made the logic with javascript, and the other, Sahil J, was the front-end developer and used HTML and CSS to make our website.

Challenges we ran into

Creating the email code was super challenging because the original code did not work after a lot of testing and debugging. We realized that Gmail was not letting us send emails because it thought we were bots. Even when we disabled these protections, it would not work. We finally used the help of a website called emailjs, which disabled these protections and allowed us to send emails with some new code, and it finally worked.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was our first hackathon, so we were so proud to actually make a finished product. We had to learn HTML and CSS, as well as learn all these sites such as GitHub.

What we learned

We learned a ton because we went to a lot of the workshops that showed us a lot of cool apps and code. We also had to learn HTML and CSS which made us a lot better at coding.

What's next for Therahealth

We could make it so that we have real therapists and fitness trainers to help students, and ask the students for their emails so the receivers can reach back to the students. We also could have made the website look better using a template and add more features.
