This project was made for MakeSPP with the healthcare theme.
What it does
TheraFish is a program which asks you questions, and based on your answers, gives you a potential diagnosis as to what mental health condition may be affecting you.
How we built it
We built a website in HTML and constructed a python-based program which analyzes the user's answers.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into issues with running a multiple regression model and properly formatting data so the model could utilize it, though these were promptly resolved.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to successfully implement the model with considerable accuracy given a small data set and few hours to complete.
What we learned
We learned much about the syntax for the languages of HTML, CSS, and python. Along the way, we discovered many things about the multifarious spectrum of mental health disorders and the stigma surrounding them.
What's next for TheraFish
The TheraFish is highly-expandable. With more time, research, and resources, it could cover more specific disorders, achieve higher accuracy, and address other issues regarding mental health. Given that we are not licensed psychiatrists, we could definitely attain greater understanding should any of us pursue the subject and revisit the project.
