Inspiration
We were highly interested in the workshop and the theoretical & hardware side of quantum computing, we were also inspired after seeing the work that Alice & Bob has put forth in the industry making the field of quantum computing hold immense potential.
What it does
In basic terms our project takes a Wigner function, and finds it's density matrix.
How we built it
Using multiple tech stacks such as python, python libraries (matplotlib, numpy, etc), dynamiqs, and other resources such as for gaussian optimization we were able to complete the programming portion of reconstructing a density matrix from a wigner function. Additionally, a lot of theory and linear algebra went into the brainstorming and learning the background of the functions and algorithms.
Challenges we ran into
We had difficulty at first with dynamiqs but found it was quite similar to qutip after which we were able to figure it out, when we were testing with experimental data our fidelity had a discrepancy although we believe this was due to test experimental data which we later found didn't work. Also finding the most optimal N value as it was a process of a few trials.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to find a density matrix from a wigner function properly, and we were also able to create some pretty dope graphs, additionally we were able to stay productive essentially grinding the entire night to create results despite being from more traditional cs backgrounds we were able to take on a quantum challenge.
What we learned
We learned a lot from different quantum states to theory based implementations of wigner functions and density matrices.
What's next for TheQubitKings (The Density Matrix)
Continue developing our project as we can optimize it even more in terms of experimental data.
