posted an update —

This should be the last update to this project, right before judging and public voting. A few changes have been done in order to improve performance and consistency.

  1. The mouse cursor style when the tile or some buttons are disabled is now updated to the disabled cursor style.
  2. You can now resize the app, change the theme, or scroll through the page when the app is auto-solving the puzzle. The solving process will not be affected by these actions.
  3. I have moved the sound player into the puzzle bloc so each tile don't need to manage their own sound player. This helps the overall performance a bit.
  4. I have added a splash screen during which the assets will be loaded. This greatly improves the performance when the app is just opened. Previously the app lags heavily on the first few seconds or so.

Overall I think I have achieved the goal I set out to when I started this hackathon: to build an app that is both fun, beautiful, and smoothly animated. I strongly recommend you to play with the app in different screen sizes (horizontally and vertically), try the auto solver and see the behavior of all the clickable components, explore the control panel via the menu button at the top right corner, and most importantly, change the themes back and forth.

Thank you all for your interest in this project.
