Inspiration

The complexity of most cryptocurrency platforms inspired us to create TheIceGrid. Many people, both new and experienced in crypto, often find it overwhelming to navigate through current platforms.

What it does

TheIceGrid is a Web3.0 application that enables real-time, secure Ethereum transactions through a simple and intuitive interface. Users can connect their MetaMask wallets, send, receive, and track Ethereum transactions on the Ethereum blockchain without needing extensive knowledge of blockchain technology.

How we built it

Frontend: Built using React.js for a dynamic, responsive user interface and Tailwind CSS for modern styling.

Backend: Ethereum smart contracts were written in Solidity and deployed on the Sepolia testnet. We used Hardhat for development and testing, while Alchemy provided APIs and node management for connecting with the blockchain.

Blockchain Integration: MetaMask was used to connect users' wallets for Ethereum transactions, and we ensured secure interactions between users' wallets and the blockchain.

Challenges we ran into

Cross-device compatibility issues: Ensuring the app worked across different devices proved to be challenging and required extensive testing and debugging.

Etherscan integration: We encountered API issues while trying to connect with Etherscan for transaction verification, which delayed progress.

Token shortage for testing: Running out of demo tokens on the Sepolia testnet meant we had to source more through external mining, which slowed down testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successful MetaMask integration: We managed to create a seamless integration that allows users to easily connect their wallets and make transactions.

What we learned

Problem-solving under pressure: Debugging cross-device compatibility and integration issues taught us to stay calm and focused when things didn’t go as planned.

Building for user experience: We focused heavily on creating an intuitive and simple design that makes blockchain technology accessible to everyone.
