Visually impaired people have different ways of perceiving the world around them. However, they can’t fully appreciate parts of attractions, buildings, and landmarks, given the impossibility of feeling them up entirely with their hands. Though some places offer visually impaired people a handheld with audio, sound by itself is not enough to fully immerse into the surroundings. Thus, a need to enhance the user experience for visually impaired guests arises. Theia Inc. dedicates itself to creating scale models of structures to provide a more immersive experience for the visually impaired community to tackle this gap. These models are exact replicas of the actual structure, and there is Braille all over it, which gives information about features such as height and color. With the help of building plans, 3D scanning drones, and photographs, Theia Inc. will create accurate 3D digital models of the structures the client desires. After 3D printing the models and processing them to ensure longevity, Theia Inc. offers the option of transportation to site and installation. The miniatures are not meant to be picked up; they’re meant to be stationary, like statues. Besides having a smaller environmental footprint than traditional manufacturing, 3D printing is an excellent process for creating accurate representations of things. By installing 3D printed replicas, the location will attract a broader audience and improve the company’s public image. Additionally, safety is taken into account by recommending cleaning the miniature every few hours to prevent pathogen spread. All of these can extrapolate into a profitable, safe, and sustainable model.
